DETERMINES
Solidaire du Gouvernement, convaincue du bien-fondé du projet de loi et faisant appel à la fermeté du Gouvernement, l'UMEP déplore le positionnement irresponsable des syndicats qui mettent en péril, à travers une grève larvée, l'image du Port du HAVRE, à peine réhabilitée grâce aux efforts de tous les maillons de la chaîne et dont une partie la saborde à nouveau, compromettant ainsi statut de port international.
La question du transfert des personnels concerne 200 personnes, au sein d'une Communauté Portuaire qui en compte 16 000.
Le projet de loi représente pourtant un réel progrès et doit conforter les décisions des grands Investisseurs, Chargeurs, Armateurs et Logisticiens à faire confiance au Port du HAVRE et à l'accompagner pour réussir le triplement du trafic annoncé à l'horizon 2015, déjà amorcé, avec la création d'emplois qui en découle nécessairement.
Face à cette perspective qui est une réalité d'ores et déjà avérée, il est impensable qu'une minorité vienne perturber la vie économique de plusieurs milliers de travailleurs, au seul motif de défendre un "statut dérogatoire", alors que les mesures proposées ne relèvent en rien d'un cataclysme social pour les personnels concernés ou leurs familles.
Alors, déterminés, oui, les Membres de l'UMEP le sont et confirment qu'ils sont solidaires du Gouvernement et qu'ils l'engagent à la fermeté. Christian LEROUX,

The UMEP, convinced of the legitimacy of the bill, fully supports the Government and calls on it to stand its ground. We regret the irresponsible position taken by the unions, which through their potential strike have put the Port of Le Havre’s image at risk, when it has only just recovered thanks to the efforts of all the links in the chain, but now may capsize again, jeopardising our status as an international port.
The question of employee transfers concerns 200 people out of a Port Community that numbers 16,000.
The bill, however, represents a marked improvement and should back decisions by major investors, loaders, ship owners, and logisticians to trust the Port of Le Havre and help us reach our objective of tripling traffic by 2015. We have already started to work towards this goal, and are witnessing the creation of jobs as a direct result.
Considering these prospects for the future have now become a reality, it is unthinkable that a minority should disturb the economic vitality of several thousands of workers, solely in the name of defending a “special dispensation”, even though the effect of the proposed measures on employees and their families would be far from cataclysmic.
The Members of the UMEP are therefore fully determined to support the Government, and demand that it stands firm.
