Inauguration of the Maritime and Port Regions Polytechnic Campus
The Maritime and Port Regions Polytechnic Campus was officially opened on 30 January in the presence of the founding members.
This is a unique project on a European scale, supported by a consortium of public and private stakeholders, whose aim is to bring together interdisciplinary expertise in order to address the challenges facing maritime and port regions. It plays a central role in transforming the ways in which higher education and the socio-economic sector cooperate.
A collective vision
Twelve founding members have joined forces with the University of Le Havre Normandy to support the development of the region and its infrastructure: the Normandy Region, the CNRS, Le Havre Seine Métropole, the EMN, the ENSM, the National School of Architecture of Normandy, the Le Havre-Rouen School of Art and Design, the Normandy Institute for Teacher Training, the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Rouen Normandy, Sciences Po Le Havre, Synerzip-LH and the UMEP.
A campus dedicated to regional development
Situated at the heart of Le Havre’s maritime and port area, this one-of-a-kind campus is a veritable open-air laboratory, which will enable innovative solutions to be put into practice in fields such as maritime issues, the city of tomorrow, transitions and risks.
It comprises five operational hubs dedicated to key areas for regional development: Expertise and Qualifications, Creation and Innovation, International Affairs, Digital and Technological Platforms, and finally the Sports Academy.
The inauguration marked the official signing of the memorandum of understanding between the founding members, signifying a collective commitment to the development of an innovative campus.
