A gantry crane operator is a skilled worker who operates port lifting machinery. They take their place in the gantry crane cab, at a height of over 50 metres, to load and unload ships. This profession requires constant adaptation to changes in handling methods and machinery technology.

Educational and training requirements
This role is open to those with a CAP or BEP in electrical engineering, electromechanics or industrial maintenance. It is also open to those without a qualification or professional experience.
