CCI Normandy is reactivating the CCI Prevention Scheme

CCI Normandy has decided to reactivate the CCI Prévention scheme for businesses in difficulty. This comes against a backdrop of an economic situation deemed alarming.

Alarming figures in France, but also in Normandy

Vincent Laudat, President of the CCI Normandy, explains that the national figure has reached a record high, with 64,271 insolvency proceedings, an increase of 24.1 per cent compared with 2023.

In Normandy, insolvencies surged by 25.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2024. The sectors most affected are accommodation and catering (+39.4 per cent), construction (+35 per cent), agriculture (+31.4 per cent) and, finally, car repairs and retail (+21 per cent).

Seine-Maritime is the hardest-hit department in the region, with 40 per cent of insolvencies, compared with 23 per cent in Calvados and 18 per cent in Eure. The single helpline for the CCI Prévention scheme (02 32 100 900) was set up during the Covid-19 health crisis.

The scheme received 2,300 calls at the time and was able to support 400 regional businesses, 75 per cent of which were micro-enterprises. Delphine Wahl, Chief Executive of CCI Normandy, explains that it is essential to seek support and not to remain isolated.

To support and assist businesses in difficulty, CCI Normandie has published a guide entitled ‘Preventing Business Difficulties’, which provides all the necessary information. Finally, it has set up a insolvency monitoring centre to track trends in collective insolvency proceedings.
