ENSM LAUNCHES ITS FOUNDATION!

The Board of Governors of the École nationale supérieure maritime, chaired by Frédéric Moncany de St-Aignan, has unanimously approved the creation of an ENSM Foundation.

François Lambert, Director-General of the School, which trains merchant navy officers and marine engineers, appointed Muriel Mironneau as Director of the Foundation on 1 April.

The aim of the ENSM Foundation is to raise, manage and allocate resources to fund initiatives in the School’s areas of specialisation.

It will focus on four key areas, as set out in its articles of association:

  1. Raising the profile of these professions and promoting them amongst young people
  2. Promoting social mobility and diversity
  3. Contributing to the reduction of environmental impact and strengthening research
  4. Disseminating the training model internationally

As a university foundation, the Foundation is based at the ENSM headquarters in Le Havre.

Its administration is the responsibility of the Management Board and the Chair of the Foundation, who is elected from among its members.

The Board comprises thirteen members divided into three groups: representatives of the ENSM, the founders and qualified individuals.

The next steps involve the ENSM Board of Directors appointing the members of the Management Board, prior to its inauguration. This is expected to take place in mid-May.

Muriel MIRONNEAU was previously Head of Communications, Institutional Relations and Corporate Relations at ENSM, having previously served as Director of Communications at the shipping company SeaFrance.

She is a member of the executive committee of WISTA France and a Knight of the Order of Maritime Merit.

“The ENSM Foundation is gaining new momentum today with the appointment of its director. I am delighted to see that the project has attracted such interest from Muriel Mironneau, the ENSM’s highly regarded Director of Communications. Her maritime experience, her knowledge of the school and her dynamism will help the Foundation to organise itself effectively to move forward with its ambitious projects, and we know we can count on the
private sector to help us achieve this.”

François LAMBERT

“Across the four ENSM sites, working alongside students, alumni, colleagues, shipowners and industry representatives, I have heard about the projects; I understand the expectations, the key players and the levers for change. I know that we must move forward with humility to win people over, and I will devote all my energy and experience to the finest cause of my career: Hydro!”
