Escales Roses: the port community’s efforts raised 18,560 euros. Well done!

On 30 September, UMEP and WISTA Normandie brought together the Le Havre port community for the first edition of the Escales Roses charity gala, held at the Palais des Régates as part of the launch of Pink October. This charity event brought together 135 guests united by a common goal: to support the fight against cancer in aid of the Henri-Becquerel Centre.

The programme included a talk on prevention, treatment and returning to normal life after breast cancer, an auction of works by the artist Stéphane Padu, a fundraising drive, and a cocktail reception bringing together key figures from the port community.

Thanks to the generosity of participants, partners and donors, a substantial sum was raised.

The total amount raised as at 31 October 2026 stands at €18,560.

The funds raised will help finance projects run by the Henri-Becquerel Centre, whether these involve research, innovative equipment or initiatives to raise awareness of screening.

This inaugural event also helped raise awareness amongst local businesses of the importance of screening and supporting employees affected by the disease, whilst demonstrating the Le Havre port community’s ability to rally behind a cause of public interest.

UMEP and WISTA Normandie would like to extend their warmest thanks to all the partners, speakers, volunteers and participants who contributed to the success of this first edition and gave true meaning to this wonderful chain of solidarity.
