With its remarkable architecture, unique light and vast infrastructure, Le Havre and its port attract numerous film and audiovisual professionals every year, with an average of 350 film shoots taking place on location.

During this tour, you’ll discover the little-known world of film production and how it’s organised, whilst exploring everyday life at the port. From classics such as *Quai des brumes* to more recent works such as *Marie-Line et son juge*, let us guide you through a selection of memorable films. This immersive experience takes you behind the scenes and shares captivating stories from the film sets.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins.

Between MERS and Literature

Every month, pop into the LH Port Centre for this themed day featuring a variety of workshops and activities, so you can learn even more about industrial and port-related activities!

Le Havre Port Center invites you to a new edition of ‘Stopover of the Month’, which forms part of the Festival du Goût des Autres – Le Havre’s major literary event – offering an exceptional programme that blends maritime culture and literary art.

On the programme: an immersion into the fascinating world of Anita Conti, France’s first female oceanographer and a visionary figure of the 20th century. A rich and immersive exhibition showcases her poetic literary works, her striking archival photographs and videos, as well as the illustrations from the graphic novel by Catel & Bocquet. An exclusive screening and a rare interview with Anita Conti round off this journey, offering a unique insight into her scientific, artistic and socially committed work. The exhibition will remain open during the next stops on 8 February, 22 March and 27 April 2025.

For children aged 4 to 9, a reading workshop based on the book *The Adventures of Titou the Tugboat and Loulou the Trawler – Rescue at Port 2000* offers a chance to meet the author. She will share her story before leading interactive games to extend the adventure.

In addition, young and old alike can enjoy jigsaw puzzles and logic games, and explore the museum exhibits dedicated to Le Havre’s industrial and port heritage.

A free event is also taking place on 18 and 19 January at the Oscar Niemeyer Library. The interactive quiz ‘Ships approaching, get your buzzers ready’ invites participants to test their knowledge of the port world following an informative presentation. Working in teams, everyone can compete against others in a fun and friendly atmosphere. It’s an original way to immerse yourself in the world of ships and port calls.

This ‘Port of the Month’ event celebrates the link between literature and maritime culture, offering unique experiences for all ages.

Anita Conti, an exceptional woman

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Anita Conti, France’s first female oceanographer and a visionary figure of the 20th century, through a rich and immersive exhibition inspired by the exhibition ‘Anita CONTI, the Lady with Wind-Filled Soles’ presented by the Musée de Fécamp from 29 June 2024 to 5 January 2025. This version will be on display exclusively during the LH Port Centre’s ‘Escales du mois’ events on 19 January, 8 February, 22 March and 27 April 2025.

This exhibition reveals the many facets of Anita Conti, blending science, art and the avant-garde. Her career as an oceanographer is explored through her pioneering research into the seas and marine ecosystems, reflecting her passion for the ocean and her pioneering commitment to the environment. Added to this is her talent as a writer, highlighted by her journalistic and literary works, which depict the sea with rare depth and sensitivity.

Her unique perspective as a photographer and videographer is revealed through striking photographs and archive footage that transport the viewer into her world, caught between a fascination with the oceans and concerns for humanity. Added to this are the illustrations from the graphic novel by Catel & Bocquet, which pay tribute to this extraordinary woman. An exclusive screening of a film dedicated to their work enriches the exhibition, offering a different perspective on the life and work of Anita Conti.

Finally, the exhibition concludes with the screening of a rare filmed interview with Anita Conti, taken from the INA archives. In this poignant piece, she shares her visionary and poetic perspective on the ocean and its inhabitants, revealing an avant-garde personality deeply shaped by the challenges of her time.

Through this fascinating exhibition, let yourself be transported by the extraordinary journey of a woman who skilfully combined science, literature and art to celebrate the sea and its mysteries.
