Exhibition
Looking at Le Havre: From the New York skyline to the silhouettes of Le Havre
From Sunday 20 to Friday 25 October

Having previously been shown at the CCI Seine Estuaire and the Town Hall Forum, the exhibition – organised by the Le Havre – Estuaire de la Seine Urban Planning Agency – is now coming to the LH Port Centre.
The exhibition was inspired by a single question: ‘Is there a difference between Le Havre’s skyline as we see it and as it is perceived?’ To answer this question, the AURH analysed nearly 200 existing skyline images, comparing them with the realities of Le Havre’s urban landscape. These skylines are distinguished by their composition, their graphic style, the choice of viewpoint, the media used, the techniques employed, and the emergence of elements – whether real, fanciful or unexpected.
Beyond their diversity, the main aim is to study the elements that make them up. Which ones appear most frequently? Is their appearance linked to their height? Can certain elements, on their own, evoke Le Havre? Are symbols more important than urban reality?
This exhibition, open to all, invites visitors to explore the estuary landscape more broadly, offering an opportunity to delve into its past, imagine the future and enjoy the present moment.
Two guided tours, organised by the AURH, will take place on Sunday 20 October at 2 pm and 3 pm.
Practical information:
• Dates and times: Sunday 20 October from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm and from Monday 21 to Friday 25 October from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
• Guided tours: duration 45 mins, Sunday 20 October at 2 pm and 3 pm
• Free
The AURH plays a key role in projects, spatial planning and the promotion of Le Havre and the greater Seine estuary. The AURH is a centre for observation, planning and foresight, working on behalf of elected representatives and institutions within its area of operation: Le Havre and the greater Seine estuary. A long-standing player in spatial planning, it carries out studies and develops territorial strategies, whilst supporting all development projects from their inception through to implementation, in towns as well as in rural and coastal areas.
