Friday 4 July, 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm:
Food & drink and maritime
expertise at Cloche des Dockers (Chaussée Pondichéry)
Immerse yourself in the world of maritime expertise in the heart of Le Havre harbour!
This guided tour takes you to explore the Pointe de l’Escaut, a little-known site where shipyards, community workshops and a dry dock area coexist.
Here, shipwrights, mechanics, volunteers and enthusiasts work to restore historic boats and maintain the leisure fleet. A vibrant, technical and deeply human place, where rare skills and often little-known trades are passed on.
The tour begins in front of the Dockers’ Bell, a powerful symbol of the port’s working-class history.
It continues at the
Conservatoire Maritime
, where you’ll discover sailing ships currently undergoing renovation, such as the Marie-Fernand
, and have a chat with those restoring them.
Then head to the nautical zone
to understand how boat repairs and maintenance are organised today in a modern port.
And as a bonus: a chance to explore the USST488
, a former US Navy tugboat, now retired in Le Havre!
An accessible, fascinating tour, ideal for getting a behind-the-scenes look at Le Havre’s maritime heritage.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins.

Photogenic
port architecture Departing from the LH Port Centre – Citadelle Terminal
Fancy discovering a different side to Le Havre, amongst quays, brownfield sites, port architecture and ecological transition? This guided walk takes you into one of the city’s oldest port districts to explore an area undergoing transformation.
Accompanied by Jean-Denis Salesse (HAROPA PORT) and Thierry Lochard (AURH), you’ll explore the different facets of this area where city and port meet: the Citadelle basin, the Eure bascule bridge, ENSM, the campus and docks, the riverside garden, dry-docking facilities, the dockers’ housing estate…
All places where heritage, urban development and future projects intersect.
The tour ends at Hangar Zéro, a model ‘third place’ for reuse and local initiatives. There, you’ll be welcomed by Laurent Bréard and Olivier Danty-Lafrance, members of the Polymage Zéro association. These enthusiasts of analogue photography will invite you to take a fresh look at the city through the magic of black-and-white prints and the art of framing. An inspiring encounter that will help you see things differently… and perhaps return, camera in hand.
An intimate urban walk, exploring living heritage, changing land uses and a sensory exploration of the area.

Wednesday 6 August from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm:
6 km along the quays
Starting from the LH Port Centre
The city of Le Havre is characterised by its ubiquitous quays, which are an integral part of its urban landscape. Take the time during this fitness walk to discover their histories, their roles and their futures.
Gain an insight into how the city has been built around them, juxtaposing ship repair facilities with the student accommodation complex and offering refurbished shipping containers as housing. But also, how, across an inlet, the quays link the city, the port and its industries. After this three-hour walking tour, you’ll never look at the quays in the same way again!
Starting from the LH Port Centre at the Citadelle Terminal, you’ll travel back in time to the bow of the ‘France’, then walk past the SIEMENS GAMESA factory, firmly rooted in the present and the future. Along the Quai de la Saône, you’ll be introduced to the A Docks housing estate, the riverside gardens and the dockers’ bell. You’ll then walk through the student accommodation complex and, finally, circle the Citadelle basin.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins.
