S-WiNG 3D: a real-time immersive experience at the heart of Le Havre’s port facilities

HAROPA PORT has released a new version of S-WiNG 3D, its innovative tool for visualising port activities in Le Havre, which can be accessed via a standard web browser on both computers and smartphones. Designed for the general public, sailing enthusiasts and local residents, this software package offers a unique immersive experience to explore the port, its infrastructure and ship movements in real time.

2026: a new generation of S-WiNG 3D

In 2026, the software package takes a new step forward with an enhanced version that is more powerful and even more immersive.

The dynamic 3D display offers a realistic representation of ships and sea conditions (waves, swell) based on data from port sensors, incorporating weather conditions, the position of the sun and the day/night cycle. The ‘white box’ visualisation of major infrastructure provides a better understanding of the port environment.

Other features – such as the search bar and multi-criteria filters – allow users to explore the entire port or zoom in on a vessel to find out more. Thanks to the integrated history function, it is also possible to view the port as it appeared on a past date. S-WiNG 3D is also compatible with a wide range of web browsers.

A tool to foster city-port links

S-WiNG 3D is fully in line with the port’s approach to opening up to its local community. By facilitating access to information and offering an educational and interactive visualisation experience, this tool helps to strengthen the bond between the port and its residents. It offers a fresh perspective on a space often perceived as closed off or complex.

An in-house solution

S-WiNG 3D was designed and developed by the innovation teams at HAROPA PORT in Le Havre. This in-house development demonstrates the port’s ability to innovate and to offer digital solutions as tools for public engagement.
