Cybersecurity: a vital component in the long-term sustainability of SOGET’s systems

By aligning itself with international standards for information security management through ISO 27001 certification, SOGET further enhances the protection it offers its clients against the risks of misuse and malicious use of information, thereby guaranteeing the confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy of the data transmitted via its infrastructure.

Every day, more than 25,000 people use SOGET’s solutions worldwide. For a single shipment of goods, no fewer than 40 documents, authorisations and declarations are exchanged by nearly 25 different parties. SOGET’s digital platform thus processes more than half a million data records per day.

This certification attests both to the high level of security of the infrastructure and to the services offered to businesses for which data connectivity remains a vital issue, in terms of both organisation and business continuity.

“ISO 27001 certification is the culmination of the operational excellence programme launched at SOGET and cements the company’s position as a trusted partner for businesses. Cybersecurity has become a vital requirement for performance. Beyond certification, we want to see genuine awareness and the implementation of best practices that are adopted by everyone. Information security management is now a collective challenge,” says Hervé Cornède, Chairman of SOGET.

A commitment to continuous improvement

ISO 27001 certification establishes a robust methodological framework by introducing an Information Security Management System, the aim of which is to continuously improve the security of SOGET’s systems. Regular audits will also help to maintain a high, effective and efficient level of security.

A dedicated team has worked on this project and enhanced the Information Security Management System already in place at SOGET. This ISMS includes an Information Systems Security Policy, which serves as a guiding principle for achieving continuous improvement and adheres to three basic principles:

• the prevention and reduction of information security risks to protect our assets and those of our clients, achieved in particular through the creation of an information security culture and the protection of our systems;
• compliance with applicable regulations;
• the implementation of operational procedures and the assessment of their effectiveness, enabling us to meet internal and external requirements.

“Security has been a key priority at SOGET for many years. It was important to gain recognition for our efforts by obtaining this certification. It took 13 months of hard work, compliance with 114 measures and the drafting of 80 documents to achieve our objective. It has also been a rewarding journey that promotes continuous improvement, risk and quality management, as well as the challenge of maintaining this certification in the long term – a challenge we fully intend to meet,” adds Grégory Perre, SOGET’s Chief Information Security Officer.
