Rail, Road and River Connected
Wednesday 14 January 2026, 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm

Registration: https://www.billetweb.fr/rail-route-et-fleuve-connectes
Discover one of the strategic sites at the Port of Le Havre: the multimodal terminal, managed by Le Havre Terminal Exploitation (LHTE).
This hub connects three modes of transport – rail, river and road – to streamline trade and optimise freight logistics.
Multimodal transport is at the heart of the green transition. By increasing the use of rail and inland waterways, it reduces CO₂ emissions, limits road congestion and offers a sustainable alternative to road-only transport. The Port of Le Havre is committed to increasing the share of inland waterway transport in the modal shift to reinforce this momentum.
During the tour, you will follow the journey of the containers, from their arrival to their dispatch, including handling and phytosanitary treatment operations. You will gain an understanding of how this infrastructure contributes to cleaner, more efficient and more competitive transport.

Discover a place where history, industry and innovation come together. This tour takes you from the historic port to the François I Lock, passing by the SIEMENS GAMESA factory, a symbol of renewable energy.
Throughout the tour, observe the ships in port and their distinctive features, and admire major infrastructure: the first container terminals, which are still very active, the oil terminals, and the impressive François I Lock, through which nearly 1,500 ships and 500 river vessels pass each year.
Listen to the story of the screen wall, the Quartier des Neiges and the Dockers’ Bell, all testaments to a region that plays a strategic role, both logistically and industrially.
