MARINE INSURER

Description

The marine insurer assesses the risks associated with the transit of goods and the scope of the issues relating to a vessel’s insurance. Based on this information, it determines the cost of the insurance. In the event of a claim, it analyses and manages the cases submitted to it, and in such cases pursues any recourse against liable third parties.

  • In-depth knowledge of the causes, circumstances and events leading to claims
  • Ability to determine the parties liable for the damage observed
  • Ability to assess the extent of damage or loss suffered
  • Ability to draft expert reports
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory frameworks and international conventions applicable to transport

Educational qualifications and training

Equivalent to a three-year degree or a five-year degree: a Bachelor’s degree in Law, or in Economics and Management for a Master’s in Maritime Law and Management. Higher education in insurance, international trade or law
