At the SITL, the TLF Union and the General Secretariat of the National Guard signed a partnership agreement.

The agreement aims to promote the reserve force and encourage employee engagement, whilst taking into account the demands of their professional activities.

Yannick Buisson, Vice-President of the TLF Union, stated that this partnership strengthens the links between the private sector and the national defence forces. “The logistical expertise of our armed forces and internal security services is a major asset for our companies. The skills developed within the reserve, whether in terms of discipline, crisis management or teamwork, represent a tangible benefit for our employees.”

The aim is to raise awareness amongst transport and logistics companies of the benefits of such support.

This will facilitate their integration into companies in the sector, whilst the specialist skills of reservists in the field of logistical support will be promoted and strengthened. TLF members will be informed of the benefits of the link between the Armed Forces and the private sector.

The National Guard has some 82,000 reservists, of whom nearly 7,000 are mobilised on a daily basis to carry out security and defence missions for the French people.

The 2024–2030 Military Programming Act provides for an increase in the number of reservists, with the aim of having one reservist for every two active service personnel.

Against a particularly tense international backdrop, the maritime sector represents a key issue of sovereignty and strategic autonomy.
