ELECTROMECHANICAL ENGINEER

Description

Electromechanical engineers are usually employed in a company’s maintenance department. They install, inspect, maintain, adjust and repair machinery or equipment comprising mechanical, electrical and electronic components. These maintenance roles use big data to collect and analyse various types of information in order to carry out work on the machinery. This data can be accessed via tools such as tablets, smart glasses, etc.

Educational qualifications and training

Vocational baccalaureate in electrical engineering and connected systems Vocational baccalaureate in maintenance of connected production systems

Two-year post-A-level qualification (BTS) in the design and implementation of automated systems / electrical engineering / systems maintenance / design of product manufacturing processes

Three-year post-A-level qualification (BUT) in Industrial Engineering and Maintenance Professional Bachelor’s degree (Licence pro) specialising in Electrical Engineering and Energy

Professional Qualification: Electrical Equipment and Operations Technician

Sectors and employers

Electromechanical engineers most commonly work in industrial maintenance departments (automotive, mechanical engineering, food processing, etc.), in industrial maintenance companies, or in large transport or energy production companies.
