MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
This role is found in many companies within the ZIP. The maintenance technician installs, inspects, maintains, adjusts, cleans and repairs the equipment and machinery assigned to them or for which they are responsible. They are required to check these regularly to ensure they are functioning correctly. The latest technological tools enable them to carry out these monitoring and inspection tasks.

- Good technical knowledge (depending on the field of work: mechanics, IT, electricity, electrical engineering, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, metalwork, etc.)

- Ability to draft service reports and correspondence
Education and training requirements
A-level equivalent Depending on the sector: Vocational A-level in Industrial Equipment Maintenance; Vocational A-level in Electrical Engineering; Vocational A-level in Energy; Vocational A-level in Communication Systems; Vocational A-level in Automated Mechanical Systems Maintenance
Two years’ further education (Bac + 2): Higher National Diploma (BTS) in Industrial Maintenance, or Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Mechanics and Automation, or IT and Networks for Industry and Technical Services, or Electronics
Two years’ further study (Bac + 3): Bachelor’s Degree (BUT) in Industrial Engineering and Maintenance, or Electrical Engineering and Industrial IT, or Communication Services and Networks; Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Maintenance, or IT Systems and Software

Maintenance technicians can be found in all sectors of activity: transport, material handling, manufacturing, the oil industry, security services, agriculture, the healthcare sector, construction sites, electricity generation, mechanical workshops, aeronautics, the chemical industry, and within fire and emergency services (SAMU, police, gendarmerie).
